A park activation proposal project, Find the Floataways is a perfect quest overlay for the Halloween season at Disney Parks. Featuring the beloved IP of the Haunted Mansion, guests use their MagicBand+ and phone to track down ten iconic ghosts of the ride.

Utilizing AR, RFID reactive technology, and physical props/scenes, Find the Floataways is the perfect blend of a digital and physical interactive experience.

Your MagicBand+ will alert you when a spirit is near. You’ll use Madame Leota’s Spirit Board—an add on within the Disney Parks app—to “commune” with the spirit. Look around until you find the ghost on your camera. Your MagicBand+ will change colors once the restless spirit is captured.

Double your chances of tracking all the sneaky spirits by teaming up with a friend.

Use Leota’s map of the park to see where the spirits have been sighted. But be wary, they won’t Rest in Peace easily. Spot them before they spot you!

Once you use your MagicBand+ to track them and Madame Leota’s Spirit Board to find them, you’ll trigger a physical prop in the park. The spirit will appear on this side of the veil for a moment before you bind them to you.

After catching all the Floataways, you’ll return to the Haunted Mansion and deposit the sneaky spirits into Madame Leota’s Ghost Bank. A Mansion servant will present you with your very own Death Certificate to thank you for all your ghost hunting help!
